When was the Tata Curvv EV launched?
Tata Motors will officially launch the Tata Curvv EV in India on August 7, 2024. This much-anticipated electric vehicle, which features cutting-edge technology and creative design, represents a watershed moment for the company. The Curvv EV’s remarkable features and possible influence on the Indian auto industry were emphasized during the launch event.
Range and Charging
The digital instrument cluster offers 376 km in Sport mode, 396 km in City mode, and 420 km in Eco when driving in actual traffic conditions. To verify the numbers, a comprehensive test will be required. The 45 kWh version provides a driving range of 502 km, while the 55 kWh version offers 585 km, according to figures claimed by ARAI.
According to Tata Motors, these are optimal testing conditions; in practice, the base model will return about 350 km, and the top model will return about 502 km. With a 70 kW charger, the Curvv EV 55 kWh boasts the biggest battery capacity in its category and can be fully charged from 10% to 80% in just 40 minutes. With the fast 70 kW charger, the battery can provide a 150 km range in 15 minutes for a quick charge.
Exteriors
With its aggressive coupe roofline and towering stance, the Curvv EV boasts a distinctive structure. The Curvv has split headlights with a svelte LED DRL under the hood that is equipped with charging indicators, sequential turn indicators, and welcome and goodbye animations, among other smart lighting features. Every light on it is LED, even the fog lamps with the cornering feature.
The Curvv has 18-inch alloy wheels, an 11.6-liter trunk that can hold the charging wires, and an electrically operated front charging flap. In addition to having the largest boot space in the class—500 liters—the Currv EV is the first vehicle in its class to include a powered tailgate with gesture controls. The ground clearance for the 55 kWh model is 186 mm, while the 45 kWh model has 190 mm. Similar to the Nexon EV, the Curvv EV has vehicle-to-load and vehicle-to-vehicle functionality.
Interiors and Features
It’s a good thing that the interior arrangement is similar to the Nexon EV because it features a modern, fresh layout. Less rigid plastic should have been used, especially for the dashboard’s top layer. It does feel luxurious, though, thanks to the layers of leather finish, faux carbon fiber, and contrasting colored stitching.
The car has a 12.3-inch infotainment system, and the glossy black center console has toggle switches to adjust the temperature and fan speed in addition to touch buttons for easy operation. To further improve convenience, the driver’s console has a 10.25-inch digital display that doubles as a navigation system.
All the standard features found in the Curvv EV are included, including a wireless phone charger, linked technology, a nine-speaker JBL sound system, voice command controlled panoramic sunroof, cruise control, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, air purification, and ambient lighting. A special mention should be made of the seating. Front-ventilated seats, a 6-way power driver’s seat, and a 6-way manual front passenger seat are all standard on the Currv EV.
Notable features include the raised floor and lack of thigh support on the seat squab, despite the rear seat having a two-step recline function. Although it’s not as roomy as other SUVs in its class, the back seat is still comfortable and roomy. Two adults can sit on the back bench with ease, and there’s space for a child in the middle.
Because of the interior’s scooped-up roofline, passengers under 6 feet will have plenty of headroom in the cabin. Additionally, because of the C-pillar design, which accentuates the large, expansive windows, the cabin doesn’t feel cramped.
